Google Workspace to Zoho Mail

Leaving Google Workspace for Zoho Mail with mail history, contacts and calendars — labels become folders, everything else is written straight into the Zoho mailboxes you create.

Typical moves.

Cost-driven moves

Zoho Mail at a fraction of the Workspace price, without losing ten years of mail.

Zoho-first companies

A business already on Zoho CRM and Books bringing mail into the same suite.

A subsidiary leaving the group

Carve a domain out of the corporate Workspace into its own Zoho organisation.

In detail.

Gmail → folders

Every message with its labels mapped to folders, read and starred state, original dates; written over IMAP.

Contacts

Google Contacts written over CardDAV, groups as categories.

Calendars

Events with recurrence and reminders written over CalDAV.

Mailboxes you create first

Create the Zoho users, generate app passwords, upload the CSV — MigrateX writes into them.

Delta passes until cutover

Gmail history IDs make every later pass minutes long.

Domain cutover

Add and verify the domain in Zoho, switch MX/SPF/DKIM with a check before you flip.

Good to know before you plan

  • Drive, Groups, Chat and Google-native documents are outside Zoho Mail and are listed for follow-up (WorkDrive is a separate product).
  • Aliases, groups and forwarding are set in the Zoho admin console — the cutover wizard tells you when.
  • Zoho's IMAP writes at roughly four messages a second per mailbox; run more workers for more mailboxes at once.

Six steps, one page each.

Connect both tenants, assess, match users, migrate in waves, verify and keep in sync, cut over. Every step lives on its own tab with the numbers that matter and the next action ready.
