Move a whole tenant.
Leave nothing behind.

Mail, calendars, contacts, shared mailboxes, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams — or Gmail, Drive, shared drives and Chat — carried from one tenant to another with their permissions intact, while people keep working.

  • Admin consent only — no passwords
  • Streams tenant to tenant, nothing stored
  • Every item verified
live

Items travel from the source tenant to the target tenant and are verified on the way; nothing is missing at the end.

Everything a tenant is made of.

Not a mailbox export — the working shape of the organisation: who can see what, who owns what, and the history behind it. See the full list, area by area.

Mail, calendars & contacts

Every folder or label, read state, flags and categories, rules and signatures where the platform allows, archive mailboxes, recurring events with their recurrence intact, contact folders — with the original dates.

Shared mailboxes, aliases & groups

Shared, room and equipment mailboxes recreated with Full Access and Send As rights, every extra address carried over, distribution lists and Microsoft 365 Groups with members — or Google Groups on the way in.

OneDrive & Google Drive

Files and folders streamed in chunks, never touching disk. Shared items keep their sharing; permissions are re-granted to the matched people. Google Docs are exported as Office files on the way out.

SharePoint & shared drives

Sites keep their URL alias, libraries, lists and Owners / Members / Visitors. Shared drives move with their roles. Custom lists and private channels are listed for follow-up instead of being lost.

Teams & Google Chat

Teams are created in migration mode so channel history arrives with the original authors and timestamps, then files and members. Chat spaces import the same way. Delta passes keep them current until you make them available.

Connect, assess, match, migrate, cut over.

MigrateX guides one route from the first admin consent to the last DNS change. Nothing is changed in either tenant until you start a pass. Read the process in detail.

  1. 1

    Connect both tenants

A Global Administrator approves the MigrateX app; a Workspace super admin delegates once. No licenses, no service accounts, no passwords shared.

  2. 2

    Assess

Users, mailbox and drive sizes, shared mailboxes, groups, sites and Teams are read and scored. Blockers and warnings come with what to do about them.

  3. 3

    Match users

People are paired automatically by alias, email or name; fix the rest by hand or from a CSV. One license per person, half per shared mailbox.

  4. 4

    Migrate in waves

Start with a few pilot users, check the result, then everyone. Passes are resumable, rate-governed and never copy the same item twice.

  5. 5

    Verify & keep in sync

Delta passes carry only what changed and cost nothing. Per-item verification lists what never made it; one click copies it.

  6. 6

    Cut over

Forwarding, final delta, domain release and claim, DNS check and a ready-to-send notice for your users. Then a printable sign-off report.

The parts that make a migration boring — in a good way.

How the engine works · How it compares

Delta passes, free

Run as many as you like. Only new and changed items move.

Per-item verification

Every folder, calendar and drive compared against the source. Missing items are one click from copied.

Automatic retries

A throttled call, a locked file, a busy mailbox — retried up to five times, with the newest reason kept.

Resumable, rate-governed

Time-sliced jobs with cursors per folder. A crash loses at most one page. Retry-After is honoured across all workers.

Cutover wizard

Forwarding, domain move, MX/SPF/Autodiscover check, user notice — ten steps, each ticked off.

Sign-off report

Printable and CSV: what moved, what was skipped and why, verified counts, cutover status.

Notifications

Email, Teams or Slack when a pass finishes, an item needs a look or a cutover step is due.

Roles & audit

Owner, operator, viewer. Every action recorded with who, when and from where.

The accounts are there before the mail is.

Directory sync creates and updates users, groups and contacts in the target from Active Directory, Entra ID or Google Workspace — and copies the OU structure between two Active Directories. Every run is a preview first; nothing is ever deleted.

  • Sign-in name rules: keep it, first.last, jdoe or janed, on the domain you choose
  • Networks with no trust or VPN between them: an outbound-only agent in each
  • On a schedule through the whole coexistence, so joiners and leavers follow along
How directory sync works

Admins consent. Nobody shares a password.

MigrateX works through each platform's own application permissions. Data streams from tenant to tenant through memory and is never written to disk. Revoke access in a click, in either tenant. The full security page.

Licenses never expire and are used only when a person's first migration starts. Card payment or invoice. How licensing works, with an estimator.

Before you start

Do users stop working during the move?

No. The first pass copies everything while the source stays live. Delta passes carry what changed. Cutover is the only moment that touches routing, and it is a guided checklist you run when ready.

Does the admin account need a license?

No. Microsoft admin consent and Google domain-wide delegation grant application permissions; the consenting account needs no mailbox and its password is never shared with MigrateX.

Where does the data go?

From the source tenant through MigrateX memory to the target tenant. Nothing is written to disk. Google Drive to Google Drive even copies server-side without leaving Google.

What if something fails?

Failed items are retried automatically. Verification then compares every folder, calendar and drive against the source and copies anything still missing. The report lists whatever can't move and why.

Can accounts that don't exist in the target be migrated?

A user needs an account to land on. Create it in the target — by hand, or with Directory sync, which creates users, groups and contacts from the source directory — then run auto-match again, pair by hand, or import a CSV mapping.

How do Teams move without losing history?

Teams are created in migration mode, which lets channel messages arrive with the original authors and dates. When the history is complete you make the team available and members are added.
