The whole tenant, not just the mailboxes.

Most migration tools move mail and call it done. MigrateX moves the working shape of an organisation — who can see what, who owns what, and the history behind it — and proves it, item by item.

  • People keep workingThe source stays live through every pass. Cutover is one guided evening, not a weekend outage.
  • Nothing silently lostEvery folder, calendar and drive is verified against the source. What can't move is listed by name, with a reason.
  • No licenses, no passwordsApplication permissions granted once by an admin. The consenting account needs no mailbox.
  • Resumable, throttle-proofTime-sliced jobs, per-folder cursors, a shared rate governor. Microsoft's and Google's limits become a schedule, not a failure.

Area by area, in detail.

This is the list to check against your scope. If it isn't here, ask us before you plan around it.

Mail, calendars & contacts

Every message where it belongs, with its dates.

  • Full folder tree (or label set), including nested folders and archive mailboxes
  • Read state, flags, categories and importance preserved; drafts stay drafts
  • Original sent and received dates — never "migrated today"
  • Calendars with recurrence, exceptions, reminders and free/busy; attendees kept as text so nobody gets re-invited
  • Contact folders and contact groups; People labels in Google
  • Signatures, out-of-office and mailbox rules where the platform allows; listed where it does not
  • Between platforms: folders ↔ labels, categories ↔ labels, recurrence ↔ RRULE, contact and event fields mapped one by one
  • From an on-premises Exchange Server over EWS (mailboxes and public folders); from or to Zoho Mail over IMAP, CardDAV and CalDAV with per-mailbox app passwords

Shared mailboxes, aliases & groups

The addresses your customers write to, and the people who answer them.

  • Shared, room and equipment mailboxes recreated in the target with their contents
  • Full Access and Send As rights re-granted to the matched people
  • Every proxy address and alias carried over; primary addresses kept
  • Distribution lists, mail-enabled security groups and Microsoft 365 Groups with members and owners
  • Google Groups with members, roles and aliases; collaborative inboxes
  • Between platforms: shared mailboxes become Google Groups on the way in; Groups become distribution lists on the way out

OneDrive & Google Drive

Files, folders and who they are shared with.

  • Whole personal drives, streamed in chunks through memory — never written to disk
  • Created and modified dates kept; versions replaced by the current one
  • Shared items keep their sharing: permissions re-granted to the matched people, links and external shares listed
  • Google Drive to Google Drive copies server-side, inside Google, at Google speed
  • Google Docs, Sheets and Slides exported as Word, Excel and PowerPoint when leaving Google
  • OneNote notebooks and other packages listed for follow-up instead of copied broken

SharePoint & shared drives

Team content with its structure and roles.

  • Sites provisioned with the same URL alias, title and template
  • Owners, Members and Visitors mapped to target accounts
  • Every document library, streamed like a drive, with folder structure and dates
  • Shared drives with managers, contributors and viewers
  • Custom lists, private channels and unsupported web parts listed by name for manual follow-up

Teams & Google Chat

Conversations that still read like conversations.

  • Teams created in migration mode so history imports with the original authors and timestamps
  • Standard channels with messages, replies and attachments references
  • Team files copied to the new team's library; members and owners added at completion
  • Delta passes keep a staged team current until you make it available
  • Chat spaces imported the same way; channels merge into a space, a space becomes a channel

And the directory they all hang from.

Before a mailbox can move, its owner needs an account in the target. Directory sync keeps users, groups and contacts in step between Active Directory, Entra ID and Google Workspace — in any pairing, one direction per sync.

  • Users with name, title, department and phone; groups with their members; contacts
  • OU structure and pre-staged computer accounts between two Active Directories
  • Sign-in name and domain rules for the target; scope to one group for a pilot
  • Preview, then apply exactly that list; run it on a schedule afterwards
  • Leavers are blocked from signing in — never deleted
Directory sync in detail

Honest limits

  • Passwords and SID history are not copied. New accounts start with a temporary password (cloud) or disabled (Active Directory).
  • Active Directory is reached through a small outbound-only agent you install in that network.
  • Licenses in the target are assigned by you, in the admin console.
  • Printers republish from the print server; they are not copied.

Built to survive a real tenant.

Large mailboxes, throttled APIs, a laptop that goes to sleep halfway through — none of it should cost you a weekend.

Delta passes, free and unlimited

Graph delta links and Gmail history IDs mean a second pass carries only what changed. Run one every night if you like; none of them use a license.

Time-sliced and resumable

Jobs work in short slices with a cursor per folder. A worker crash, a deploy or a throttle loses at most one page of progress.

A shared rate governor

Retry-After headers are honoured across every worker, so ten mailboxes in parallel never trip the tenant into a longer back-off.

Idempotent by design

An item map per user means nothing is copied twice — not after a retry, not after a crash, not after you press the button again.

Automatic retries

A locked file, a busy mailbox, an oversized message — retried up to five times with the newest reason kept for you to read.

Per-item verification

Every folder, calendar and drive listed again and compared with the source. Missing items are shown by name and copied with one click.

Cutover wizard

Forwarding, final delta, domain release and claim, DNS check, user notice — ten steps you tick off in order, with the timing built in.

Notifications

Email, Teams or Slack when a pass finishes, an item needs a look or a cutover step is due. Nobody has to keep a tab open.

One route, one page, one next step.

Each project opens on a stage bar that shows where the move stands and what to do next. Users are shown as pairs — source person, arrow, target account — so matching is a glance, not a spreadsheet. The Migration tab keeps the counts honest; Sites & Teams keeps staged teams visible until you make them available; the Overview rolls every project into one "Needs you" list.

  • Assessment with a readiness score and findings that say what to do
  • Auto-match by alias, email or name; CSV import; pairs fixed once a user starts
  • Pilot users first, then waves; a delta pass whenever you like
  • Printable sign-off report and CSV export for the change record
  • Owner, operator and viewer roles; every action in an append-only audit log

See it with your own tenant.

Create an organization, connect a source tenant and run the assessment. It reads, scores and lists — and changes nothing. 5 trial licenses are included for a pilot.
